Leola Anderson Brown, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Sunday, February 1, 2004, at Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, February 5, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald with Rev. Ronald Parks officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Brown was born January 9, 1913, in Massachusetts to the late James “Jimmy” Anderson and Maude Austin Anderson. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1942 and in 1947 married her late husband, Collie C. Brown. A talented piano player, Mrs. Brown was a well-known musician, who played at nursing homes, funerals and numerous special occasions. She was a co-founder Anderson Memorial Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Brown is survived by one nephew: James Anderson, Douglas, GA; two nieces: Grace Heustis, Alpine, UT and Ruth Hale, Cheyenne, WY; several great nieces and nephews.
