Lee S. Hansen, 73, of Higgins Street, Smithfield, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Doris R. (Giroux) Hansen.
Mr. Hansen had trained thoroughbred race horses before his retirement. He was a coach for the Smithfield High School Baseball and Wrestling teams as well as a devoted fan of all the athletes. He was also the school game supervisor at Smithfield High School. He had served in the Marines.
He is also survived by his children: Lee Ann Brown of Smithfield and Scott Hansen of Las Vegas, Linda Gardner of Naples, FL, Michael Roe of Littleton, CO and Robert Roe, of Clive, Iowa;
nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
His funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial private. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. Donations in his memory may be made to SHS Athletic Department, 90 Pleasant View Avenue, Smithfield, RI 02917.
