Obituary

BEVERLY: Theresa J. “Terry” (Bossie) Putur, 88, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Zygmont T. Putur who died in 1997. They shared forty-five years of marriage.
Born in Beverly on June 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Ida M. (Theriault) Bossie. A lifelong resident of Beverly, she was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1941. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be sadly missed by those whose lives she touched.
Terry once worked at the United Shoe Machinery Corp. in Beverly and the Daniel Low & Co. in Salem for several years. She was also a longtime communicant of the former St. Alphonsus Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol and her husband, John Lang of Danvers, Donna and her husband, Michael Rourke of Rowley and Jayne Powers of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Andrea Lang, Jonathan, Jaclyn and Kyle Powers and Erin and Adam Rourke; one great-grandson, Dylan Michael Jalbert; two sisters, Rita Denis of Orlando, FL and Doris and her husband, Arnold Lakso of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; four sisters-in-law, Celia Bossie of Beverly, Lucie Bossie of Bradenton, FL, Helen Putur of Amesbury and Mildred Putur of Ipswich; many nieces and nephews and among her many friends, a dear friend, Barbara MacDonald. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Joan Flinn and Priscilla Chapman and two brothers, Robert and Dennis Bossie.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in the St. John the Evangelist Church, New Balch St., Beverly at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the VNA Care Network & Hospice, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
