Obituary

PORTSMOUTH, RI-Eva (Andreopoulos) Stoupis, 78, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, May 31st in Newport Hospital, Newport. Her beloved husband, Thomas C. Stoupis passed away in 2003. She leaves her daughter Valerie Wynn and her husband Howard of Mill Valley, CA; two beloved grandchildren Peter and Zoe Wynn, for whom words could not express her pride and love for; two dear sisters, Rita Fotiades and her husband Alexander of Marstons Mills and Joyce Devletoglou and her husband Andrew of Athens, Greece; her loving nieces and nephew, Sandy Diane and James Fotiades; many friends.
Eva was born in Worcester in 1933, the daughter of Harry and Olympia (Karpetas) Andreopoulos. She was a graduate of Worcester State Teacher’s College. Eva enjoyed several years as a junior high school teacher, followed by a long and fun-filled career was a staff manager for the Newport Preservation Society. She lived in Portsmouth, RI and spent the winter months in Naples, FL, where she loved soaking up the sun and avoiding the cold New England winters. Her family and friends will never forget her joyful laugh, keen and wry sense of humor, her love of reading mysteries and her bragging rights for being able to finish the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle. She will be missed dearly.
The funeral is Monday, June 6th with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester, MA.
