Marion “Betty” Harding 81 of Provincetown, formerly of Wellfleet died unexpectedly at Seashore Point on Sunday evening May 22, 2011. Betty was born in Dennis and was one of 8 children of the late Leon and Marion (Shiverick) Sylver. She lived in Dennis until she married and moved to Wellfleet around 1950. She was the wife of the late Earl Harding, Jr. who died several years ago. After the death of her husband, she continued living in Wellfleet until moving to the Cape End Manor, currently Seashore Point. In her later years she became involved with the social activities at the Wellfleet Council on Aging and Cape Abilities in Eastham. She is survived by her brother Richard Sylver and his wife Lois of Dennis, her sister Dorothy Franklin and her husband Arthur of Hampton, VA and her sister Phyllis Gifford of Hyannis, her brother in law Roger Dawson of Florida and her sister in law and close friend Carol Sylver of Orleans, the wife of her late brother Earl. In addition to her brother Earl, she is predeceased by her brother Norman Sylver and her sisters Gladys Sears, Theresa Dawson and Ruth Thacher. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place at Seashore Point 100 Alden St. Provincetown on June 6, 2011 at 10:30am.
