New Bedford- Maria C. (Sardo) Miranda aged 88 years died Wednesday June 1st at Royal Taber Street Nursing & Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Mario Miranda who passed way August 13, 1999. She was the mother of Maria C. wife of Antonio Afonso and Maria wife of John Vaughan both of Dartmouth. Mrs. Miranda was the grandmother of Daniel Afonso, Paula Amaral and Cathleen Barker. She was the sister pf Iria Fidalgo of New Bedford and Antonio Sardo of Portugal. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miranda was the daughter of the late Rosa (Caetano) and Antonio Sardo. She was born in Figueira da Foz, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1968. Maria was a seamstress at Cliftex Corp until her retirement.
Mrs. Mirandas’ Funeral will be Friday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth, MA. at 10:00 Burial will be at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M.
