Peggy Jean Cummings, age 69, of Water Valley, MS died May 30, 2011 at her home with her family at her side. Born November 18, 1941 in Water Valley, she was a daughter of Richard Simpson and Christine Boydston Green. She worked as a nurse at NMRC in Oxford, and was a talented quilter. She enjoyed cooking and creating delicious meals for her family and friends. She cherished her church families, Woodland Hills Baptist Church and Camp Ground Baptist Church.
Services are planned for 11:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Camp Ground Baptist Church with Bro. David Ross and Bro. Ken Izzard officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time Thursday. Burial will be in Camp Ground Cemetery with Andy Paul, Kyle Cummings, Cameron Cummings, Cade Cummings, Beau Cummings, Kever Lewis, Tyler Green, Chris Harmon, Joey Paul and Ryan Paul serving as pallbearers.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Hassel Dee Cummings.
She is survived by two daughters, Marva Paul Harmon (Kenny) of Water Valley, MS and Susan Lewis (Joe) of Olive Branch, MS; two sons, Dean Cummings (Penny) of New Albany, MS and Henry “Hank” Cummings (Susan) of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Mary Pearl McCullough (Wilford) of Paris, MS and Hazel Johnson of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Lewis Green (Louise) of Water Valley, MS and Jimmy Green (Charlene) of Cookville, TN; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
