Obituary

Joan M. Carter, of Natick, age 80, died Monday, May 30, 2011 after long illness at Beth Israel Deaconess in Needham.

She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 26, 1931 to the late Frederick and Marie (McCarty) Carter.

Loving sister and best friend of Viola G. Carter of Natick, loving sister of Mary Wigmore of West Roxbury, Nancy Palmer of Newton Center, Elizabeth Ingram of West Roxbury and the late Frederick T. Carter Jr. She also leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews.

Joan was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and Fay Secretarial School. She was a member and librarian of the Framingham Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution, the Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America, the “Breakfast Club” of Natick and the Memorial School Retirees of Natick.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street (at Natick Common), on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 9AM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick at 10AM. Burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
