
Thomas Byron Perkins, 77, of 532 Ingram Street, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born in Danville on March 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Grover Clinton Perkins and Mary Desmond Wiggs Perkins.
He was married to Shirley Mann Perkins, who survives him of the residence.
Mr. Perkins lived his entire life in Danville. He was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church. He had retired as a Senior Systems Analyst for ABB. He had served his country as a member of the US Air Force. He was an active member of the Danville Elks Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Daryl Keith Perkins and his wife, Ladonna of Keeling, and one daughter, Debra Reagan and her husband, Kevin, of Danville; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and one sister, Romayne P. Jones and her husband, Ronnie, of Ladson, SC.
Funeral services for Mr. Perkins will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel and at other times will be at the residence.
