DUDLEY - Carl G. Benvenuti, 79, of Progress Avenue, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at his home after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Joan M. (Anderson) Benvenuti; 3 children, Carlene A. Benvenuti of Perris, CA, Lisa J. Benvenuti of Dudley, and David C. Benvenuti of Riverside, CA; a brother, Philip Benvenuti and his wife Christine of Auburn; nephews, nieces and cousins, including John Priessler and his wife Cathy and family of Dudley.
He was born and raised in Webster, son of Chelso and Isabelle (Simmons) Benvenuti, and lived in Dudley since 1959. He graduated from Saint Louis High School in 1950 and later earned an Associates Degree in Business from Nichols College.
He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years.
Mr. Benvenuti was an insurance salesman for many years before retiring in 1997. He then held a part-time job at Northeast Marine Industries in Oxford for several years.
He was a member of Saint Louis Church in Webster. He served on the Board of Assessors for the Town of Dudley for a number of years. He was once a Little League coach.
The funeral will be held Friday, June 3, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 2, in the funeral home.
