McInerny, George F. of Dedham, May 30, 2011. Beloved husband of 58 years to Marjorie (Smith) McInerny. Loving father of James McInerny and his wife Linnie of Houston, Texas, Timothy McInerny and his wife Betsey of Concord, Massachusetts, and Elizabeth McHugh and her husband Shaun of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Devoted grandfather to John McInerny of Houston and Robert McInerny of Concord. He was born September 10, 1926 in Boston. After graduating from Dedham High School in 1944, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A Boston College Law School graduate, he worked for the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads, and as a trial lawyer and Assistant General Counsel with the National Labor Relations Board. He had a private law practice in Boston before returning to public service as an administrative law judge with the National Labor Relations Board, after which he was a private mediator and arbitrator until retiring in 2006. He served on the Dedham finance committee, as chair of the capital expenditure committee, and an elected member of the school committee. He was an accomplished painter, and enjoyed reading, history and travel.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. DEDHAM Thursday at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8PM. Interment Private.
