Obituary

WORCESTER – Mrs. Catherine “Kay” (Haddad) Giguere, 91, passed away Saturday May 28th peacefully at St Vincent Medical Center.


Catherine is survived by her loving daughter with whom she lived, Carol Giguere of Worcester, also many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Catherine was pre-deceased by her siblings: George Haddad, Adele Haddad, Mitchell Haddad, Judy Rabidou, Tillie Nettelbladt, Mary Haddad, Milly Trabulsy, and Emil Haddad.

She was born July 31, 1919 in Worcester, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Max and Nazalie (Debs) Haddad. Wife to the late George A. Giguere.

A lifelong Worcester resident, Catherine was a graduate of the Worcester Girls Trade School. She worked as a sales clerk for many years at Filenes’s Department Store in downtown Worcester as well as First National Super Market in Tatnuck Square where she was affectionately known as the “Mayor”.

Catherine enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Carol, traveling to beaches in Maine and Cape Cod. Well known for her smile and warm disposition, Catherine was a friend to everyone. She will be sorely missed by everyone’s life she touched.

Catherine was a member of Christ the King Church in Worcester, the Ladies Guild and the Social Club.

Her funeral will be held Thursday June 2nd from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 10a.m. at Christ the King Church in Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the Funeral Home, Wednesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to Christ the King Church Building Fund, 1052 Pleasant St. Worcester, Ma. 01602.
