Susan T. Lewis, 47

Susan T. Lewis, 47, of Mansfield formerly of Norton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, on Monday May 30, 2011. She was the beloved 18 year companion and best friend of Mark J. Murphy, with whom she made her home.
Born in Weymouth, MA on November 5, 1963, she was the loving daughter of Kathleen J. (Conley) Lewis of Mansfield and the late Paul R. Lewis, Sr.
Susan spent her early childhood living in Hull. At the age of 10, she and her family moved to Norton where she was educated in Norton public schools and was a 1981 graduate of Norton High School. She furthered her studies and was a graduate of Stonehill College.
Well respected by her colleagues, Susan worked in Event Management at the Massachusetts Convention Center in Boston and as an Event Coordinator at the Vincent Club, also in Boston.
She had formerly been employed as an Assistant General Manager at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset and the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, and was also a former Event Coordinator at the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts.
For many years she enjoyed volunteering at The Deutsche Bank Championship at the TPC in Norton and was a recipient of the “Outstanding Volunteer Award”. She had also served as an Administrator for Golf Fights Cancer, also at the TPC in Norton
Susan was a former member and served on the Board of Directors of the Big Sister Association in Brockton. A resident of Mansfield for over 10 years, she had formerly resided in Norton and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.
In addition to her beloved companion and best friend Mark, and her loving mother Kathleen, she is survived by her devoted brothers Paul R. Lewis, Jr. and his wife Pamela of Plainville and Gregory J. Lewis of Chandler, Arizona. The cherished aunt of Andrew Lewis of Mansfield and Brian Lewis and Emily Lewis both of Plainville, she is also survived by several dear aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday June 3rd at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 2nd from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Susan’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, 55 Fruit St. Boston, MA 02114.
