John Steven DaRosa, 51, of New Bedford died Sunday May 29, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Ilidia (Fernandes) DaRosa of New Bedford and the late John DaRosa, he lived in New Bedford all his life.
He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mr. DaRosa was a self-employed carpenter.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a dedicated member of C.L.E.A.N., a neighborhood environmental activist group.
Survivors include his mother; his loving daughters, Justina DaRosa and Danielle DaRosa, both of New Bedford; four sisters, Diana DeAndrade of New Bedford, Kathy Rumsey of Waldorf, MD, Donna Medeiros of Rochester and Lisa White of Hyde Park; his former wife, Maria (Teixeira) DaRosa of New Bedford; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Funeral Mass will celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
