Obituary

Mr. Arthur N. Hotte, Jr., of Taunton and formerly of Lakeville, passed away Friday, May 27 in Longmeadow of Taunton, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born 64 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late A. Normand P. and Lillian (Briere-Beaulieu) Hotte. He was educated in Taunton and had attended culinary school in Rhode Island. Mr. Hotte had been a Taunton resident for most of his life. He had formerly owned and operated Hotte’s Coffee Shop in Taunton prior to enlisting in the Navy, and was also formerly employed by J. Angelo’s Catering Service in Taunton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts, playing cards and scrabble, spending time with his family, and also received an award from Community Connections for his advocacy. He was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
He leaves: 1 brother: Paul R. Hotte and his wife, Pam of Charleston, S.C.; 1 sister: Therese L. Corliss and her husband, George of Taunton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, May 31 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton Street, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tn., 38148-0142.
