Born in Norfolk, Virginia and educated in Taunton schools, Edith was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lena (McEncrowe) Cooke. Edith was a retired attendant for Taunton State Hospital. Edith was the mother of Mark W. Benton of Taunton, Frank W. Benton and his wife Jean of Grafton, Judith A. Benton of Taunton, Jeraldine Benton of Oregon, Jane Eastman and her husband Michael of No. Smithfield, RI. Grandmother of Twelve and Many Great Grandchildren. Sister of Florence Mills of Ohio, William Cooke of Taunton, Donald Cooke of Pawtucket, RI, Charles Cooke of Whitman and the late James Cooke. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday, May 31st at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 AM.
