Obituary

John F. "Jack" Cottier, 65, of Derry, died Wednesday May 25, 2011 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. Mr. Cottier was born May 25, 1946, in Charlestown, MA and was a son of Joseph and Frances (Gallagher) Cottier. He was raised and educated in Charlestown and Somerville, and was a graduate of Somerville High School. Jack had been employed as a sales representative for many years with C.H. Robinson Paper Company of Woburn and later with Lindenmeyr-Monroe paper of Billerica. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church of Derry and a member of the Knight of Columbus; he had also been a coach with the Derry Demons Pop Warner football team and with the local AAU Girls basketball.
Members of the family include his wife of 40 years, Jackie (Boisvert) Cottier of Derry, his daughter and son-in-law Julie and Reggie McDaniel of West Haven, CT., his son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Laura Cottier of Merrimack, NH, two grandchildren, Kayla and Jaxon McDaniel, brother, Edward Cottier of W. Dennis, MA, three sisters, Joan Kyle of Charlestown, MA, Carol Mahoney of Charlestown, MA, and Gerry Munden of Florida, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours were held Monday, May 30th from 4pm to 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday at 10am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry.
