ROCKINGHAM: Mrs. Rosa Lee Boan, 78, of 145 Hudson St., Rockingham, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in her home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31, in the Jefferson Park Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Frank McQuage and Rev. Phillip Yannone officiating. Internment in Eastside Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Rosa was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on June 6, 1932 to the late Alonza and Delphia Burchette Neal. She was a retired teacher assistant.
She is survived by her husband, Murtis Boan of the home; a son, Mark P. Boan of Marston; three daughters, Rosette Trushay 'Country' Boan of Aberdeen, Janice Boan and Esther Abigail Boan both of Rockingham; two sisters, Eunice Dudley and Betty Lipscomb both of Lynchburg, VA; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service and at other times at 145 Hudson St., Rockingham.
