WAYLAND: James A. Henderson, 52, First Vice President and Associate Resident Director at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Cambridge died in Santorini, Greece on Monday, May 23, 2011 while on vacation with his wife and daughter. James was a resident of Wayland for many years.
James was born in New York, NY on February 27, 1959 the son of the late James A. Henderson and Jean (Conway) Henderson. He attended the Buckley School in Manhattan and was an alumnus of the Brooks School in North Andover and received a B.A. in Economics from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL.
James worked briefly for the Cigna insurance group in New York City. He and his wife moved to the Boston area in 1984, where he began his thirty-year career in the financial services industry. Mr. Henderson worked for Paine Webber, Buttonwood Securities, BayBank, Fleet Bank, Bank of America, and Merrill Lynch.
James was a frequent boater and fisherman, and enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He and his family were parishioners at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin’s Church in Wayland.
He is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Sadler; his daughter Stephanie L. Henderson, of Wayland; his mother Jean C. Henderson of Washington, DC; his sister Hilary Stephens of Washington, DC; and his brother John G. Henderson of Alexandria, VA; along with eleven nieces and nephews.
At the request of his family, there will be no funeral home visitations.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at
10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin’s, 99 Main St (Route 27) Wayland.
Interment will be private for his family.
