Dallas Oney Parten, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, January 29, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, Georgia with Rev. David Price, Rev. Tommy Powell and Rev. Marvin Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Parten born October 28, 1924 in Avon Park, Florida, to the late Hugh and Bessie Hill Parten and grew up in Turner County, Georgia. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II and in the United States Air Force Reserve. He retired as an Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins. Mr. Parten was a Mason and a member of the DAV. He was a member and usher at the Fitzgerald Church Of God.
Mr. Parten is survived by his wife: LaWanda Parten, Fitzgerald; five sons, Rick Parten, Hugh Parten, Dale Hess and Larry Winfree, all of Fitzgerald and Steve Hess, Hawkinsville; five daughters, Diane Randall, Macon, Judy Eberhardt, Centerville, Tina Moore, Dea Parten and Lisa Taylor, all of Fitzgerald; 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Parten was preceded in death by one son, James Parten, four brothers and three sisters.
