Charles H. “Chuck” Crowley, 74, of Medway died May 23 in his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Helen (Kelley) for the past 55 years.
Born in Boston, April 4, 1937, the son of the late Charles and Elsie (McGinnis) Crowley, Mr. Crowley was raised in Boston and had lived in Medway for the past 47 years.
Mr. Crowley was a graduate of Boston College High School and had been a route salesman for the Continental Baking Company for of 25 years.
He later worked for 10 years at the Glen Ellen Country Club in the irrigation department.
He was a member of the Milford Knights of Columbus and was a 4th Degree Knight. He had taught CCD at St. Joseph’s Church.
He was a member of the Teamsters local 494.
Mr. Crowley had been active in Medway Youth Baseball and hockey and had been a hockey referee operating out of the Norfolk Ice Arena.
Chuck loved to golf, garden, bird watch, and was a fan of all New England sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Helen E. Evers and her husband Tom H. of Bellingham, Carol Ann Niro of Mendon, Charles H. Jr. and his girlfriend Aurenir Guimaraes of Churchill, TN, Mark J. Crowley and his girlfriend Linda Rigoli of Franklin and Kelly Jean Carter and her husband Paul M. of Mendon.
He is also survived by his siblings, Barbara McKinnon of Ohio, Mary Ellen McCauley of Medfield, John Crowley of New York, Francis Crowley of Wilmington and Robert Crowley of Falmouth.
He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will by held on Saturday, May 28 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
