Anthony E. Parillo, proprietor of Big T & D Trucking, died suddenly on Sunday evening at the Winchester Hospital. He was 75.
Born and raised in East Boston he was the son of the late Dominic and the late Jennie (Verderico) Parillo. Tony founded Big T and D Trucking in Chelsea many years ago and was still active in the operation of the firm. Possessed of a strong work ethic, Tony built the company, with his son Dominic, into a successful and respected name in the trucking industry throughout New England. Known as an avid junk collector, Tony filled many trailers with artifacts from his years in the transportation business. He was devoted to his family and did all he could to provide the best for them. He loved being with his grandchildren and was a devoted benefactor of the Poor Clares in Andover.
The beloved husband of the late Barbara (Parker), who died two years ago, he was a devoted father to Dominic Parillo and his wife Sharon of Medford, Elaine Curro and her husband Richard of Stoneham. He was a loving grandfather to Anthony, Danielle and her husband Michael McCabe, Richard John, Taylor, Kendall and great-grandfather to Cameron. He was a dear brother to Fr. Emery Parillo, OFM of Boston, Joseph Parillo and Michael Parillo, both of Somerville the late John Parillo, Mary Puccino and Theresa Paglierani.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Friday 3 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
