Salem: Alice M. (Lavoie) Gauthier age 87 of Salem, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Henry J. Gauthier with whom she had shared 29 years of marriage at the time of his death.
Alice was employed for many years by GTE Sylvania. She retired from the company in 1986, and was a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club. Alice was an avid Bingo fan who also loved bowling. She was a member of several bowling leagues, including the Sylvania League and the St. Joseph Alumni League.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Gauthier and her fiancée, Michael Ryan both of Lynn, a step-son, Mark H. Gauthier and his wife Cheryl of Lynn, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 nephews Robert and Carl Lavoie, several cousins and her devoted friend Lillian LeBlanc.
She was predeceased by her brother Robert Lavoie.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, with her service to follow in the funeral home at 12 noon.
