GLOUCESTER: Rosalie G. (Frontiero) Sclafani, 84, died Monday morning, May 23, 2011 at her home following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Frank L. Sclafani, who died on May 26, 1988. They had shared forty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Gloucester on March 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Gerome T. and Beatrice T. (Sinagra) Frontiero. She was a graduate of the St. Ann High School, class of 1945.They had resided in Carmel, New York for over forty-five years, where she was a homemaker as well as a bookkeeper for Sclafani Petroleum. Rosalie and her family moved back to Gloucester in 1985.
Rosalie was an avid reader, who loved to play the piano,cook and host family gatherings. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by two daughters, Bridget M., wife of Brian Fish, Maria C., wife of Jeffrey M. Delaney; Three sons, Louis F. Sclafani, Jerome D., husband of Maureen (Flannagan) Sclafani, Francisco A. Sclafani; seven grandchildren, Frankie Sclafani, Roseann, wife of Wade Luongo and Melissa, wife of Bernard Calabro, Heather, wife of Jimmy Sclafani, Daniel Francis Fish, Katherine Rose Fish, Lilah Sheryé Fish, Meghan Leigh Delaney and Gary Redlon; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Nolan Luongo, Victoria, Elizabeth and Bernard, Jr. Calabro, Allyssa and JJ Sclafani; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosemary and Frank Orlando, Ann and Jack Mulcahey; two brothers, Salvatore Frontiero, Frank Frontiero and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Charlene A. Sclafani.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at noon in the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church. Visiting hours will be held (today) Wednesday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
