Joseph M. Correa, age 81, of Fall River passed away May 22, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Hilda (Martin) Correa for 58 years and the son of the late Antone and Mary (Mello) Correa. Prior to retiring, Joseph worked as a purchasing agent at the Newport Naval Base and also worked part time for Apex Shade Co. Joseph served in the U.S Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He was an avid bowler, bowling on many leagues; he enjoyed gardening with his brother Antone, was a past member of the Royal Travelers Club, and he was also a parishioner of St. Michael Parish. Joe was a devoted family man who put his family and friends above all else.
Besides his wife, Joseph is survived by his children: Donna Baer and her husband Brent of Gardner, MA, Linda S. Francoeur of Fall River, and Scott J. Correa and his companion Lynda Curry of Rehoboth. He was the brother of Antone and Mary Correa both of Fall River, Herman Correa of FL, Everest Correa of NC, Evelyn Doerpholz of Chicopee, MA, and the late Idenna Viveiros and Dolores Wycislak. He had three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River THURSDAY at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours WEDNESDAY 4-8 P.M.
