Virginia D. Hornsby, 81, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 31, 2004 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday evening at Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Hornsby was born February 3, 1922 in Union City, Tennessee to the late Francis McDaniel and Carrie Rice McDaniel. She had lived in the community for 10 years, coming from Florida. She was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for her family’s business, H & M Sales, in East Chicago, Indiana. Mrs. Hornsby was a member of Arbor Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star , and a former member of the Arbor Lights choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Pascal Hornsby, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Survivors include: Son: Dennis L. Hornsby, Hammond, Indiana; Grandson: Justin A. Hornsby, Hammond, Indiana; Brother: Rufus McDaniel, Crown Point, Indiana.
