Obituary

Edith I. (Fletcher) LaBounty, 79, of Blackstone and formerly of Medway died May 23 in her home following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Philip G. LaBounty who died in 1993.
Born in Milford, June 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Harold and Alfreda (Nichols) Fletcher, Mrs. LaBounty had lived in Medway for most of her life prior to moving to Blackstone six years ago.
Mrs. LaBounty had worked in environmental services and Medfield State Hospital for five years before her retirement. She had previously worked at Castronics in Medway for many years and at the former Medway Hat Factory.
Edith loved gardening, sewing and quilting.
She is survived by her sons, Philip G. LaBounty Jr. of Uxbridge, Gary L. LaBounty of Blackstone and Wayne M. LaBounty of Salem.
She is also survived by her brother Charles Fletcher of Duxbury and her sister Ruth Doliner of Millis. She was the sister of the late Dotty Osier and Earl, Harold, Billy and Bobby Fletcher.
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 27 in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber St. in Medway at 11:00 a.m.
Following cremation burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
