Sandra "Susie" Long Smith, 64, of 239 Rocky Lane, Apt. 8-E, died at her residence on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
Born in Danville on November 24, 1946, she was the daughter of Carl Long who predeceased her, and Mary Mills Long
of Danville. She was married to Wilbert J. Smith who survives her of the residence.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Shore and Kristy Palmer; a brother,
Tony Ray Long; a sister, Deloris Heard, and eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her
father, she was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Ray Long and a brother, Bobby Long.
A memorial service will be held at Barker Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. with
Pastor Ray Horn officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 prior to the
service. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations by made to the American Cancer
Society at P. O. Box 3907, Martinsville, VA, 24115-3907.
