Obituary

Patricia D. Bell, of Carver, Massachusetts, died on May 21st,2011 in Life Care Centers of Plymouth after a six year battle with breast cancer.
Born in Avon, Massachusetts on September 18th, 1952 to Paul and Leila Loring, Patricia was a well-loved, well-known, and highly motivated member of her school and church communities.
The first in her family to graduate from college, her passion for politics and interest in society and community led her to her studies in social sciences at Keuka College in Keuka Park, NY, where after studying for a period in Washington, D.C., she obtained her Bachelors degree in 1974.
A firm believer in the idea that individuals can make a difference in the lives of those around them, Patricia used her education to the benefit of those lives. Over the course of her life, which she spent working in the non-profit sector, she worked for the United Way, Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless, and Eliot Community Human Services, where she worked with troubled youth. She was also a dedicated youth basketball and Destination Imagination coach.
Patricia was the widow of Thomas M. Bell and is survived by her daughters Kimberly M. Bell of Boston and Diana C. Banville of Carver; her grand daughters Frankie Marie Banville and Myra Lynn Banville, and her grandson Trey Thatcher; her sister Victoria and her dear friends Mark and Colleen Rice.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St ( Rte 3A) N. Plymouth, Tuesday, May 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 25, in Lakenham Cemetery Carver, MA at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, or to her beloved grand daughter Frankie’s college fund (Mutual Bank, P.O. Box 811, Carver, MA 02330
