PETERS, Irene A. (Shields), of Revere, May 20, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Albert L. Peters, and former wife of the late Jacob Baron. Devoted mother of James S. “Jim” Baron and his wife Kathy of Winthrop, and Diane Baron-DiMino and her husband Sal of Revere. Adored grandmother of Julianna DiMino of Revere. Dear sister of the late Lorraine Alfano, Jim Shields, and Dr. Joan Shields. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Visiting hour will be held on Thurs, May 26, at the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, beginning at 10am. A Funeral Mass will be held following the visitation, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Winthrop, at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited. Irene’s passion was tap dancing. She was an instructor at the Winthrop Senior Center, coaching the “Seaside Tappers”. She was the owner of the Irene A. Baron Dance Studio in Beachmont, Revere, and in her earlier years enjoyed many dance outings at the former Blinstrubs Ballroom near South Station in Boston Prior to her retirement, Irene worked as a Loan Officer at the Nashua Trust Bank in NH.
