
Rene B. Beaulieu, age 81

TEWKSBURY: Rene B. Beaulieu, age 81, a resident of Tewksbury for 14 years, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Rose Marie (Ponte) Beaulieu, with whom he celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on April 11th.
Born in Fall River on March 21, 1930, he was the son of the late Emile Beaulieu and the late Grace (Surette) Beaulieu.
Rene was raised in Fall River, attended Fall River schools and graduated from Fall River High School.
In 1948, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Worcester.
He was awarded several decorations for his military service including the Navy Occupation Medal (Europe), the Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with two stars.
Rene resided in Melrose for 30 years until moving to Tewksbury, where he was a communicant of St. Williams Parish.
Prior to his retirement, he served as the Vice President of the Haymarket Cooperative Bank and previously worked for the Enterprise Cooperative Bank.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by five children, Anne Marie Cardoso of Roslindale, Paul R. of Wakefield, Peter G. of Waltham, Elizabeth A. Coulter and her husband Andrew of Tewksbury, and Christopher M. Beaulieu and his wife Kristy of Chalfont, PA. He was the doting grandfather of twelve grandchildren; one brother, Leo Beaulieu of Fall River; one sister, Claire Murphy of Fall River; also many nieces and nephews.
Rene was the father of the late Caroline Grace Beaulieu and brother of the late Robert Beaulieu.
