Nicholas DaPonte, age 45, of Providence passed away May 17, 2011 in N. Providence. He was the husband of Christine (White) DaPonte. Born in Fajã de Baixo, Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of Maria Fernanda (Valadao) DaPonte and the late Francisco DaPonte. He was currently working in the Shipping & Receiving Dept. for Wal-Mart and part time for the Hertz Car Rental Agency in T.F. Greene Airport.
Besides his wife of NC & his mother of Fall River, he was the father of Michael, Matthew, and Mark DaPonte all of Fall River, Nicole White of Cranston, RI, Victoria DaPonte and Destani DaPonte both of NC; the brother of Margaret Simas, Elizabeth Cordeiro, Connie Perreira, Rosa Botelho all of Fall River, Ana Beleda of Somerset, and Dorothy DaPonte of Fall River. He was also the grandfather of 3 and the uncle to many nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River MONDAY at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
