Mr. Thomas F. Bresnahan Jr., of Wilmington, passed away May 20th at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Christine M. (Merceri) Bresnahan and together they shared twenty years of marriage. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Thomas F. Sr. and Margaret E. (Byrnes).
Tom was a Wilmington resident for the past twenty years and formerly lived in Arlington. He was a retired truck driver for the Boston Globe where he worked for over twenty years. Prior to his employment with the Boston Globe, Tom was the owner and operator of Bresnahan Motor Sales in Cambridge for over five years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 359. Tom also proudly served with the Army National Guard during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed being with his family and many friends and together with his wife Christine they loved to travel, especially enjoying trips to different casinos. Tom will be sadly missed by his loving family and many dear friends.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife Christine and was the loving stepfather of Michael Janko and his wife Nancy of Arlington. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughters, Jamie Lee and Christine Janko. He is further survived by his sister, Maryjo Biehler and her husband Louis of South Carolina, and several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St. Wilmington, Monday, May 23rd, at 9 a.m. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., WILMINGTON, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Dello Russo Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tom's memory to the Epilepsy Foundation, Attn: Accounting Dept., 8301 Professional Place, Landover, MD 20785-7223.
