Catherine I. (Chaplin) Consigli, 94, of Medway died May 19 in the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Consigli who died in 1982.
Born in Millbury, October 7, 1916, the daughter of the late Ernest and Lillian (Hazelwood) Chaplin, Mrs. Consigli was raised in Milford and had lived in Medway for the past 65 years.
Mrs. Consigli had been employed for 25 years at Castronics Corporation in Medway before her retirement in 1988.
She had been a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Joseph, the Medway Friendly Club and the Medway Senior Citizen Club.
Catherine loved to bake and to do crocheting.
She is survived by her children, Peter J. Consigli and his wife Judy of Middletown, Rhode Island, David E. Consigli of Medway, Joseph L. Consigli, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Northbridge, Joanne Gaulin and her husband Phillip of Derby, Kansas, Nancy Rojee and her husband Mickey of Medway and Kathleen Burke of Athol, and the late Arden Hanscom.
She was the former mother–in-law of Lorraine Consigli and Frank Burke.
She is also survived by her sister Jean Bushnell of Milford and was the sister of the late Herbert Chaplin, William Chaplin, Ernest Chaplin, Jr., Agnes Saleski, Lillian Kavonian and Alice Elliott.
She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 23 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
