BETTY JEANES BERG
Betty Jeanes Berg, 77, went on to be with the Lord on the evening of May 19, 2011. Betty was born in Louisville, KY on June 30, 1933 to Paul Jeanes Sr. and Mary Claycomb Jeanes.
Betty graduated from Valley High School Class of 1951. She was married to James Berg Sr. up until his death on December 29, 2002. Betty is retired from Jefferson County Family Court, where she served as a bench clerk for Judge Revell.
Betty is survived by her husband Ernest “Penny” Thompson of Louisville, her three children James Berg Jr of Chesterfield, VA; John Berg of Bristol, FL and Wendy Berg of Washington, DC. She loved her two grandchildren Ryan Berg and Dakoda Berg of Bristol, FL. Her siblings, Paul Jeanes Jr, James Jeanes and Susie Jeanes Carney preceded in death.
Betty was a kind, loving and spiritual person. She knew no stranger and was loved and adored my many. She is a former member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a date to be announced and a Memorial Service to be held in Louisville at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, a fund has been set up in her name.
