New Bedford – Barbara A. (Belton) Gonzalez, age 65, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Wilfredo “Willie” Gonzalez of New Bedford. She was the mother of Wilfredo Gonzalez Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez both of New Bedford. Mrs. Gonzalez was the sister of James Belton of California, Edward Belton of Bronx NY. and the late Portia Cruz. She was also the aunt of Tamara Cruz and great aunt of Trent Cruz.
Mrs. Gonzalez was a daughter of Vera (Laterma) Belton of the Bronx, New York and the late Clayton Belton. Barbara was born in the Bronx, New York. Barbara worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney until she retired.
Mrs. Gonzalez‘s funeral will be Monday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 10:30 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited
