Mrs. Sidney Ann Alley Collins, age 82, widow of the late Leo Collins, of King, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Priddy Manor. Sidney was born on April, 28, 1929 in Stokes County the late Jesse Lee and Chattie Heath Alley. Sidney was a homemaker, farmer, avid gardener and a member of King Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness. Sidney is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Lane of King and Deborah (Rodney) Ebert of Tobaccoville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, John (Irene) Alley of Walnut Cove; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Arnold) McKinney of King; one sister-in-law, Pauline Alley. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, James, Thomas, Henry and Wayne; two sisters, Sadie Mae Goode and Nannie Ola Chatman. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Elder Vennis Pike, Elder Jim Ashby and Julie Farmer with interment to follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home and at other times at her homeplace, 3373 YMCA Camp Road, King, NC 27021. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Alzheimers Asscociation, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or to Hospice and Palliative Carecenter of Walnut Cove, PO Box 863, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
