Obituary

Heinz, Robert Louis (Bob), age 81, of Louisville, loving father, grandfather, faithful and loving husband, passed into eternal life with the Lord after living at Masonic Home Apartments for seven years. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Glenna Ruth Lewis Heinz, and his children who were his pride and joy, Eric (Martha) of San Diego, CA; Deborah Archer (Don Hoover) of Ashburn, VA; Gary (Shelley) of Lexington, KY; Rebecca (Bill Ankney) of Bozeman, MT; Ruth (Terry Woods) of Indianapolis, IN, and George (Megan) of Emigrant, MT; six grandchildren, Matthew, Rob (Audrey), and Danny Archer; Caitlin, Alice, and Brooke Heinz, and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Avery Archer. He was pre-deceased by his parents, George and Lula, sister, Jane Thompson, and precious granddaughter Isabella Glenna Heinz.

Bob was a member of Lewis-Parkland Lodge for 61 years, a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite where he was honored with a 33rd degree, member of York Rite bodies, Louisville DeMolay Commandry, Kosair Shrine, and Royal Order of Scotland.

Bob belonged to St. Paul Methodist Church where he was a former Stephens Minister, active in the Sunday School program, and loved cooking for the Boar’s Head Celebration. He was a former President of Lakeside Swim Club and made lifelong friends there. He was a graduate of DuPont Manual High School and attended U. of Louisville where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and a faithful Louisville Cardinals fan. He lived several years in and around Yellowstone National Park and loved Montana as a second home. Always ready for adventure, he backpacked to Cascade Lake in MT at age 70.

Viewing: 20 May, 5-8 PM, Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Rd.
Viewing: 21 May, 9-10 AM, Funeral Service 10 AM, Masonic Home Pillars Chapel 240 Masonic Home Dr.; followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery
Reception at Club Olmstead follows at 1 PM
