Obituary

CHACE, Bradford A. “Brad”, of Winthrop, formerly of St. Augustine, FL, passed away after a long illness, at the Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea, on May 16, 2011. He was 75. He was the devoted husband of the late Alice (Pinney) Chace. Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of the late Boardman H. and Helen E. (Belcher) Chace. Brad graduated from Winthrop High School, Class of 1954. He then went on to Boston University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Management, in 1958. He had a passion for literature with a deep interest in history. Prior to his retirement, Brad worked as an accountant for a trucking and freight company. He is survived by several step-children, cherished friends Diane Pennell of Winthrop and Susan Kerr of Tewksbury, and his dear cat, Dove. A Memorial Service will be held in the First Church of Winthrop-United Methodist 217 Winthrop St. Winthrop, Ma. on Monday, May 23, at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association 40 Shirley St. Winthrop, Ma. 02152.
