FRANKLIN—Lorraine F. (Mullen) Doherty 80, of Franklin, passed away peacefully at Caritas Norwood Hospital on Monday May 16, 2011 following an illness. She was the wife of the late Philip S. Doherty who died in 2000.
Born in Lynn, July 3, 1930 a daughter of the late Francis E. and Hilda S. (O’Brien) Mullen, she was raised and educated in Lynn, where she was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School class of 1948. She had been a resident of Franklin since 1961.
Mrs. Doherty was a retired sales associate for the former Gould’s clothing store in Medway. Her interests included gardening, sewing, cooking, and traveling. She also treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and a member of its Catholic Women’s Club, a co-chair of the Franklin Fourth of July Committee for 25 years, an active member of the Brick School Association, and a longtime volunteer in the town of Franklin.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Julie M. LeBlanc and her husband Michael of Franklin and Jennifer Jane Doherty and her husband Matthew Hochman of Somerville, a sister Mary T. LeBlanc of Holliston, and a niece Jane Killoren of Holliston. Also surviving are her 4 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday May 20th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. FRANKLIN www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
