Pettis, Valerie (nee Tracy), of Millis, formerly Ireland and England, passed away on May 15, 2011 at the age of 59. Born in Dublin, Ireland, she also lived in Wexford, Ireland and London, England before moving to Massachusetts in 1977.
Loving Daughter to Mary Tracy of London, England, Wife of Robert Pettis of Millis, Beloved Mother of Melanie Carney of Medfield and Stepmother of Rolf Pettis of Millis, Robin Girard of North Carolina, Regina Brule of Attleboro and Rhonda Pettis of Whitinsville, survive her. She also leaves her Brothers, Patrick, Bernard and Sean, Sisters: Ann, Pauline, Geraldine, Josephine and Sally who reside in England and Ireland (excluding Patrick who resides in Texas), as well as many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Valerie was a Certified Nurses Assistant and worked at Leonard Morse Hospital and lastly in a private home. She owned antique stores in Millis and Wrentham.
Valerie loved the word of God and rejoiced in spreading the Good News and talking to others about her love of Jesus. Compassionate and generous, she spent her life helping others. She was a missionary in Haiti in 1986 with her daughter Melanie and then again in the Dominican Republic, where she brought over 50 people to the Lord. She supported many charities, as she strongly believed in tithing and donating to help spread the word of God.
She loved gardening and creating, dolls, sculptures & teeny tiny items that brought others joy. She will be remembered for her generosity, love of animals and a fiery passion for life.
