Bronis “Bonnie” Sue Davis McCurdy, 59, of Tifton died Monday, May 16, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funerals services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Herman McCurdy, Jr., Richard McMillian, Curtis Holton, Tyler Tyson, Christian Bruner and Steve Kubasta will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Codee McKinney, Nathan Childress, Adrian Washington and Andrew Banks. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. McCurdy was born on September 21, 1951 in Savannah and was the daughter of Merle Hughes Screws of Leesburg and the late Jack Davis. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Bruner. She was a homemaker and care-giver and of the Baptist faith. She loved her family and loved to take care of her husband and make sure her family was well cared for.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. McCurdy is survived by her husband, James Carl McCurdy of Tifton; one son, Samuel Creel of Tifton; two daughters, Mandy Bruner of Vienna and Kem McMillian of Ocilla; four brothers, Jack Andrew Davis of Leesburg, Robert Davis of Savannah, Charles Davis of Savannah and Darrell Davis of Tifton; one sister, Beverly Coxwell of Valdosta; and seven grandchildren, Christian Bruner, Devae McCurdy, Katelynn McCurdy, Nicholas Hand, Maranda Ulloa, Bernardo Rodriguez and Dakota Rodriguez.
