Anna T. (Murphy) Grzelcyk, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home in Chelsea following an extended illness. She was 86 years old.
Anna was born in Cambridge on April 14, 1925 to the late Timothy and Jeannette (Buchanan) Murphy. She grew up in Charlestown and attended Boston Public Schools there. Anna was a homemaker .
Anna is the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Grzelcyk. She is the devoted mother of John Grzelcyk and his wife Kathleen of Charlestown, Joseph Grzelcyk and his wife Cynthia of Watertown, Donna Devlin and her husband Daniel of Charlestown and Stephen Grzelcyk and his wife Janet of Tewksbury. She is the loving Grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Dorothy Foley of Charlestown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Anna's Funeral on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
