Christian M. de Bellerive, 80, died May 15, 2011. He was born in Marseille France, April 8, 1931, to Louis de Martin de Bellerive, and Solange (Denaveaux) de Martin de Bellerive.
He immigrated to the United States by way of Ellis Island on July 4, 1946 and became a United States Citizen in 1954.
He worked for many years as an oil burner service technician at Manchester Tire and Battery. He completed his working years at City Fuel as the service manager. During his retirement, he worked part time delivering vehicles for Dobles Chevrolet.
He was a past member of the Civil Air Patrol, Kinnicum Rifle Club, as well as the United Commercial Travelers. He enjoyed boating, gardening, hunting, and fishing. Christian's family was the center of his life. His most cherished moments were spent with his grandchildren.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include his wife of 57 years, Lorraine (Fredette) de Bellerive, of Manchester; 2 daughters, Denise and her husband Donald Hunter, of Braintree, MA, Ann and her husband Mark Chalifour, of Manchester; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Van Weezerdonk, of Leesburg, VA, Michelle Kimball, of Boscawen, Nicholas Hunter, of Braintree, MA, Abigail Hunter, of Braintree, MA, Jason Chalifour, of West Roxbury, MA, Christopher Chalifour, of South Boston, MA, Meaghan Chalifour, of Manchester; 4 great grandchildren, Alexander, Samantha, Matthew, and Olivia; 1 brother, Daniel Gasc, of Ales, France.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St.
Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, and burial took place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
