Charles Edwin Bray Sr., age 86, of Mystic, passed away Friday at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.
He was born in New London on November 20, 1924 the son of Russell and Florence (Hurlbert) Bray. He was married to Mildred Samantha (Watson) Bray August 23, 1947 and enjoyed over 63 years of marriage.
He was a longtime faithful employee of Electric Boat where he retired at age 62. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, boating, and gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother Russell F. Bray Jr. and wife Janice; his children Johnathan A. Bray Sr. and wife Ida, Nancie E. Bashor, Thomas H. Bray Sr. and wife Donna, Peggy Jensen and husband Mike, Susan Drexler and husband Donald, Carlton F. Bray Sr. and wife Laurie, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Betty Truman and son Charles E. Bray Jr.
A graveside service will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic on Friday, May 20th at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
