HAVERHILL: Natalie A. (Norris) McLaughlin, 88, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 in the Penacook Place Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Edward J. McLaughlin who died in 1981.
Born in Haverhill on September 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Beatrice (Callahan) Norris. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, she attended the Kimball Street School in Bradford, was a graduate of St. James High School and studied for two years at the MacIntosh Business School in Haverhill. After finishing her education, Natalie enlisted in the U. S. Navy on November 4, 1943. She was honorably discharged on December 21, 1945.
She worked as a clerk at New York Specialty Store, Grads, and Maguires of Bradford for many years. She also was employed at Bradford Junior College for several years. Natalie was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Hearts Parish.
Natalie’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Penacook Place, for the wonderful care they gave to Natalie, during the past year.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia George of Haverhill; a nephew, David and his wife, Nicole George of Salem, NH; her cousins, Donna J. and her husband, John W. McColley of Bradford, Timothy J. and his wife, Linda Callahan of SC, John and his wife, Ilene Callahan of Haverhill, Robert and his wife, Sharon Callahan of Haverhill, Rob and his wife, Jeanne Corliss of Haverhill, Michael and his wife, Sue McColley of Brentwood, NH, John and his wife, Pat McColley of Haverhill and Tom McColley of Bradford and her close friends, John and Mary Small and their family.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in the Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main St., Bradford at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Sunday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 52 Salem St., Bradford, from 3 – 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to either Penacook Place, 150 Water St., Haverhill, MA 01830, Mission Towers, 180 Water St., Haverhill, MA 01830 or to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 48 South Chestnut St., Bradford, MA 01835. Interment will be held in the St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
