Kathy Michelle Simmons, age 40, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 following a brief illness. Mrs. Simmons was born on January 14, 1971 in Douglas, GA. She worked as a secretary in a law firm. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by maternal grandfather: Cleveland Storey and paternal grandparents: Roy and Bullah Mae Parker. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with burial following in the Douglas City Cemetery. Survivors include: husband: Tony Simmons, Douglas, GA; son: Brandon Burkett (Kristin Harper), Douglas, GA; stepdaughter: Tonya Simmons, Douglas, GA; parents: Lamar (Celia) Parker, Sr.; maternal grandmother: Betty Storey, Fitzgerald, GA; brother: Lamar (Shannon) Parker, Jr., Douglas, GA; sisters: Kandi (Stephen) Knight, Broxton ,GA; Kaci (Chris) Campelll, Douglas, GA; brother in law: Terrell (Melanie) Simmons, Denton, GA; sister in law: Lisa (Jamie Hall) Lombardi, Douglas, GA; best friend: Jazzibell, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
