Mrs. Margaret C. (DeBenedictis) Collins, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Robert J. Collins, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. She was 96 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 13, 1914, she was the beloved daughter of the late Angelo and Riana (Giuliano) DeBenedictis. Mrs. Collins was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1932. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medford. Her devotion to her family was second to none. She was the person that would keep everyone in contact and was alway interested in her families history.
She was the loving mother of Robert J. and his wife Kathleen B. Collins of Londonderry and the late Richard C. Collins, cherished grandmother of Kimberly A. and Robert J. Collins, both of California and dear great-grandmother of Zazie and Elodie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, May 13, 2011, at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Cristian Burial celebraed in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 9 AM. Many relatives and friends are respectfully attended. Visitng hours were held on Thursday, May 12, 2011, from 5 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
