Obituary

Mr. Richard G. Connolly Sr. age 76, of Malden and Humarock, passed away May 10th at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis A. (Milano). Born in Boston he was the son of the late William and Katherine (Scanlon) Connolly.

Mr. Connolly was a proud United States Army Veteran and honorably served during the both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his return to civilian life, Mr. Connolly began his career with the telephone company and retired as a supervisor after nearly forty years of dedicated employment. He cherished spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed many good times at his beach house in Humarock where he also served and was a past president of the Humarock Beach Improvement Assoc.

In addition to his late wife and parents, Mr. Connolly is predeceased by his brother, the late William Connolly, and sisters, the late Virginia Malono, Barbara Marley, and Katherine Chichester.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Connolly Jr. of Humarock, Daniel Connolly and his dear friend Robin of Humarock, Derek Connolly and his wife Michelle of Methuen. He is also survived by his loving granddaughters, Allaina, Marissa and Sabrina Connolly. He is further survived by his Brother, Paul Connolly and his wife Mary of So. Portland, ME and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday, May 16th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 770 Salem St., Malden, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 3 thru 7. Services will conclude with burial at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. Late U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
