Obituary

Mr. James E. Lander, age 77 of Danvers, formerly of Medford died Monday in the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Asara) Lander with whom he shared more than 55 years of marriage. Born in Everett, son of the late Frank and Rita (Langille) Lander, he is a graduate of Everett Vocational High School, class of 1957. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He worked as a Tool & Die Assembler, employed by the former H.K. Porter Company.An enthusiastic golfer, her is a former member of the Woburn and Lynnfield Golf Clubs. A true town sports fan, he was presented an award from Everett High School for his support of the Everett Football team and being their biggest fan. He also enjoyed the New England Patriots but achieved the most satisfaction from spending time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is the father of Debra Heenan and her husband Thomas of Medford, Denise DePierro and her husband Michael of Billerica, and the late Dianne DiLando and her husband Armand of Chelmsford. He leaves a sister Eleanor Shea and her husband Leo of Billerica and is the brother of the late Earl and Charles Lander, Doris Donnelly, Catherine Lombardi and Irene Pagliarulo. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford on Friday at 10 AM. His funeral Mass will be held in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
